Internal medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. Unlike family medicine, which provides care for patients of all ages, internal medicine concentrates solely on adults, dealing with complex medical issues and chronic conditions. Our internists, nurses, and physician assistants help our patients manage multiple chronic and severe illnesses.

Dr. Daina is so great and professional. Very Thorough! I'm so glad I chose this Health Care Service for my primary when I moved here from Vermont. She's so kind and caring to her patients. The staff is also always very professional and helpful. I'm very happy that I chose Coastal Carolina Internal Medicine PA!

I have reviewed this medical practice several times and I have nothing to change. I just like being treated by Dr. J Ros. He has great ‘bedside’ manner with office visits. He knows how to treat any problem I have brought to him. He never hesitates to refer me to a specialist if he feels I would benefit more. He is very reassuring and I leave there feeling someone does care!

As always Dr Ros and his staff saw me and accurately treated me to my great relief. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who has medical needs and would like to have them treated quickly and accurately. My recent visit and as always I found the staff professional and courteous. They pinpointed my problem and gave correct recommendations. I would highly recommend this office to anyone with medical needs.

I do not need healthcare often but when I do, I can always get an appointment within 24 yours. My care is always good and thorough, I always get a call back if I leave a message, and the staff is very friendly. After several years as a patient here, I am very grateful for this practice.

I can't say enough about this practice other than they are one of the most professional, knowledgeable and caring medical offices that I have ever dealt with. I give the highest praise to my PA, Dana Barber who has treated me for several years, always patient, and thorough. Her nurses Winfield and Porsha are absolutely wonderful.

Our health clinic in Jacksonville treats a wide range of adult health conditions. These include chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and acute conditions like respiratory infections and the flu. We also manage preventative care, offering screenings, vaccinations, and guidance on living a long and healthy life.
A routine physical exam typically includes a comprehensive review of your medical history, a discussion about your lifestyle habits (such as diet, exercise, and smoking), and a physical examination. Generally, adults should have an annual physical exam to monitor their health and catch potential issues early.
This may involve checking your vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature. Your provider may recommend additional screenings or tests depending on your age, medical history, and the concerns you brought up during your consultation.
At our health clinic in Jacksonville, we take a personalized, patient-first approach.
As soon as your first consultation, we work with you to develop a comprehensive management plan that can include medication strategizing, lifestyle modifications, and regular check-ins to give you control over your conditions. You deserve to live a life free from the fatigue that comes from constant worry. We put in the work to make that life achievable.
Preventative care informs everything we do. We offer a helpful variety of preventative services, including screenings for common conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and cancer. We also provide lifestyle counseling and vaccinations to help you maintain your health and prevent future illnesses.
To ensure prompt processing, we require at least 72 hours notice for all medication refills. Please ask your pharmacist to send a refill request to our office. You may need to schedule an appointment before we can authorize a refill, especially for controlled medications or when lab work is required.
We electronically prescribe all medications to minimize errors. Please bring your medication bottles to every visit so we can update your records and verify that all medications, including OTC ones, don’t cause unwanted complications when paired together.
Copayments are due at the time of service as required by our agreements with insurance carriers. We accept most insurance plans and will file your primary and secondary insurance claims for you. For plans we do not participate in, such as tertiary insurance or workers’ compensation, you will need to file your own claim.
If you are a private pay patient or using a health savings account, please inform the receptionist at check-in. Payment arrangements must be made before any office visits. We accept cash, checks, VISA, Discover, and MasterCard. The balance will become your responsibility if your insurance does not pay within 60 days.
