Please know that specimens are read by an outside physician group of radiologists and pathologists and will charge a separate fee for interpreting your results.

This is common in most internal medicine practice clinics.

TELE-HEALTH

In the event you are unable to come to the practice to be seen for your appointment, afflicted with a contagious illness, or the community is asked to work remotely, we will accommodate you through a secure tele-health visit via Updox.

Insurance coverage may vary. Please contact your insurance provider for any inquiries.

Medication prescriptions and refills

In order to better serve you, we require at least 72 hours of advance notice for all medication refills. Please contact your pharmacist and ask them to send the request to our office.

An appointment may be required before we can authorize the refill, including the possibility of lab work. Controlled medications, such as but not limited to pain medication, will require an appointment every 30 to 90 days for a refill.

All medications will be electronically prescribed to reduce medications error associated with illegible handwriting. This enables the pharmacies to accurately interpret and dispense medication more efficiently.

Please bring your medication bottles to every visit. The medical assistant will update these each time you visit the clinic and keep a current list. This is important as we want to make sure the medications you take, including over-the-counter ones, do not present adverse effects.

Please be aware that the local military treatment facility (MTF) will have the 1st right of refusal to deny services to a civilian provider if they are able to perform the services in their clinic.

Diabetes Management

A LISTENING EAR

Some people with diabetes have been dismissed or even shamed by doctors and other medical professionals. At Coastal Carolina Internal Medicine PA, we lead with empathy and courtesy.

For example, while weight loss can be a legitimate aspect of diabetes management services, we understand that fluctuating blood glucose levels and even diabetes medications can make losing weight difficult.

You need compassionate medical guidance, not judgment. We'll help you find a diabetes management plan that works for you and your lifestyle.

A Rational Approach

Our treatment is based on medical research and best practices. We want to help you understand diabetes so you can discuss your problems and needs clearly and make informed choices.

When you provide your doctor with information about your life and learn about your medical care from your doctor, the two of you can create a plan for your health.

Diabetes management isn't the same for any two patients, but your management plan is likely to include:

  • Blood Glucose Level Testing

  • Blood Pressure Management

  • Cholesterol Management

  • Exercise

  • Foot Exams

  • Insulin Therapy

  • Medication

  • Nutrition

  • Oral Hygiene

  • Stress Management

  • Patient Education

ALlergy Testing

Do you suffer from seasonal allergies? Or, do you have itchy skin and rashes, and you're not sure what the cause is? Come to Coastal Carolina Internal Medicine PA for quality allergy testing services in Jacksonville, NC.

We provide exceptional patient care and educational services to help you live your best and healthiest life, and we want to help you be in control of your allergies. This means understanding their root causes, knowing your range of treatment options, and being able to make an informed decision on how you want to proceed. If you have allergies, talk to our practitioners today about how we can help.

To better treat your allergies, Coastal Carolina Internal Medicine PA will run a diagnostic allergy skin test to diagnose what allergens you react to, what allergic conditions you may be suffering from, and what medications or injections will best provide you with relief.

During the allergy test, your physician will introduce your skin to several possible allergens to see which ones elicit the strongest reactions.

Possible allergens include:

  • Animal Dander

  • Dust Mites

  • Foods

  • Pollen

IMMUNIZATIONS

IN addition to the COVID-19 Vaccines and boosters, we also offer the following immunization options:
